How to Create the Easy Sleek High Bun, Justine Marjan’s Way

To achieve any ponytail or bun hairstyle, it’s as simple as pulling your hair into an updo. However, when it comes to creating popular runway hairstyles like the sleek, high ponytail or bun, there are some tricks you need to implement into the routine. Who knew splitting hair into two sections helps you create the sleekest ponytail of them all? Sectioning off the top half of the hair (from ear to ear, as if creating a half-up ponytail), then fashioning that upper section into a bun first, helps give you better grip. The next step is just brushing up the bottom section and incorporating it into your upper half-updo. “Creating two sections creates control,” says Justine. After creating the bun, Justine sprayed TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4 onto a toothbrush and brushed the hair to remove any visible hair parts and to help tame down any flyaways.

Secrets to Creating the Nonie NYFW S/S 2019 Runway Hairstyle

Justine also recreated the runway look updo she did backstage for Nonie. “The key to getting this look super sleek, I have the model tilt her head back slightly so that when I’m done securing the elastic and she tilts her head forward, it stays in place,” Justine explains. To create the look, Justine split the length of the ponytail in half and created a brick-lay pattern. If you’re creating this at home on your own, use a hair clip to keep one half of your ponytail away while you work on the other. To set the look, Justine also used TRESemmé Compressed Micro Mist Hairspray Extend Hold Level 4.
